Obituary for Martin "Marty" Hutchinson

Martin "Marty" Hutchinson
Dorchester/Clinton-Martin D. Hutchinson, 57, died at home on December 13, 2017 after being stricken ill. He is survived by his sisters and their husbands, Geraldine A. Massalski & Joseph, and Lee A. Dowd & Joseph, of Clinton, and Honor E. Dittmar, wife of the late Michael “Mick” Dittmar, of Warsaw, IN; brothers, John J. Hutchinson , and Mark P. Hutchinson & wife Jean, all of Clinton; and George M. Hutchinson & wife Sheila of Leominster. He also leaves aunts, generations of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his best friends Tom and Beth Vetras. He is pre-deceased by his brother Brian P. Hutchinson.
Marty was born in Clinton on November 28, 1960, son of the late John J. and Helen P. (Durkin) Hutchinson. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1978 and achieved his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Westfield State College in 1982. Marty worked for many years as a mechanic at Overnite Transportation in Southborough before joining the relief effort in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. As a lifelong lover of dogs and animals, Marty enjoyed volunteering with the MSPCA in Boston for the past few years. He loved sports and was a dedicated fan of the Baltimore Orioles. Marty will be forever remembered by family and friends for his dry sense of humor and keen wit. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 7PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with calling hours prior from 5 until 7PM. Private burial will later be held in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Martin Hutchinson to: MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
