Joseph Tunewicz
Clinton-Joseph C. Tunewicz, 89, passed away peacefully at Clinton Hospital on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. He will rest in peace with the love of his life, Louise Brown, who pre-deceased him in 2009. Joe leaves his extended family and many friends, notably Lori Dery of Leominster; and Ronald Brazeau of Barre. He was born in Brockton to Polish immigrants Joseph & Sophie (Osipowicz) Tunewicz. Joe graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1946 and achieved his bachelor degree in Business Administration from Bryant College in 1949. Joe managed a shoe store in Brockton for many years and later worked as a security guard for the Corcoran House in Clinton. He served as the long time facilities manager of his apartment building at 163 Church Street in Clinton where he could be found most days perched on his stoop overlooking the daily activities of the neighborhood. He was an honest spoken, kind hearted, generous friend who was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need and who will be forever missed and remembered. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton, with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held prior to Mass on Tuesday from 8:30 until 9:30AM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Online condolences may be placed at www.philbincomeaufh.com
