Clinton-Anne R. (Mastrodomenico) Giansanti, 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, George J. “Gigi” Giansanti. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara A. Prinos & Dennis of Clinton, George J. Giansanti, Jr. & Martha of Lancaster, PA; Philip M. Giansanti & Cynthia, and Michael A. Giansanti, all of Clinton. She leaves her brother-in-law Pat Vitone of Fitchburg; sisters-in-law Martha Domenico of Worcester and Lorraine Giansanto of Clinton; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her granddaughter Tiffany Giansanti, and siblings, Josephine D’Olimpio, Lena Giansanti, Elizabeth Monfreda, Felix “Phil” Domenico, and Eva Vitone.
Anne was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Vito and Rose (Salvati) Mastrodomenico. She was educated in Worcester schools and graduated from Commerce High School. She met and married the love of her life, George J. “Gigi” Giansanti, and the couple raised their family on Franklin Street in Clinton. Anne enjoyed many years of employment as an assistant cook in the cafeteria of St. John’s Grammar School and Clinton High School before her retirement. She was a woman of great faith, an adorer, and devout member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton. She was a former member of the St. John’s Mother’s Club and the Sons of Italy Savoia Lodge. Anne was talented in knitting and crochet and crafted countless gifts of sweaters, hats, mittens, and afghans for those she cared most about. A devoted matriarch, she loved babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always happy to prepare an Italian feast for family dinners. Anne was happiest while in the company of her family. She was also a lifelong, enthusiastic fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. Funeral services are to be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton.
