Robert Roncone Sr.
Clinton-Robert G. Roncone, Sr., 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Leominster. He is survived by his children, Deborah Kirby & husband Michael of Sterling; Robert G. Roncone, Jr.; Angela Gnoza-Mascetti & husband Michael Mascetti; grandchildren, David Gnoza, Sr., and Jacqueline Gnoza; and great-grandson, David Gnoza, Jr., all of Clinton; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He is pre-deceased by his siblings, Mary Rigero, Lena Pittelli, Adeline Amato, Catherine Zafirs, John, Felix, Francis, and Joseph Roncone.
Robert was born in Clinton to the late Nunzio and Carmella (Dorazio) Roncone. He graduated from the Clinton High School, Class of 1944 and began his successful career in the insurance industry, working for John Hancock Insurance Company for more than 20 years before retiring. Unable to sit still in retirement, he later enjoyed part-time employment as a driver for Clinitech for many years. Bob was a life member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton and was a former member of the Clinton Elks Lodge. He enjoyed watching sports and was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees. His pleasures included country music, playing cards and cribbage, and going out for a nice dinner. Bob had a love for his many cats and dogs and was happiest in the company of his family. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 9:30 until 11AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 11AM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Burial will be held in Reservoir Pines Cemetery, Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robert G.
