Ruth Gilmour (McGinnis)
Clinton-Ruth J. (McGinnis) Gilmour, 72, passed away peacefully in her residence surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, William G. Gilmour. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Beth Hart & Grady of Lancaster; and Dawn McNally & Brian of Clinton; 6 grandchildren, Molly, Abigail, Ian, and Emma Hart, Finn, and Aidan McNally; great-granddaughter Lena; brothers-in-law, Thomas Pierce and Lionel Parent, both of Clinton; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her sisters Shirley Pierce and Carol Parent.
Ruth was born in Clinton to the late Harold and Jennie (Votour) McGinnis. She graduated from the Clinton High School, Class of 1962, and obtained her degree in nursing from David Hale Fanning Trade School. Ruth worked as Licensed Practical Nurse in the Clinton Hospital and numerous skilled nursing facilities throughout Worcester County. She was happiest with her toes in the sand on York Beach and while entertaining her family and friends. Ruth enjoyed shopping and took pleasure in knitting. She will be forever missed and remembered lovingly by all who knew her. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 6PM on Friday, October 6, 2017 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with calling hours prior from 4 until 6PM. Burial will later be held in Reservoir Pines Cemetery, Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth Gilmour to WHEAT Community Services, 500 Main St., Suite 203, Clinton, MA 01510.
