Obituary for Elizabeth Burns Sargent

Elizabeth Burns Sargent
Hudson-Elizabeth Carla Burns Sargent passed away on September 3, 2017 after a courageous fight against ovarian cancer. She was born on May 27, 1967 and grew up in Harvard, where she made many special friendships at The Bromfield School. Making enduring friendships continued throughout her life. She worked many years in the field of higher education. She married her long-term boyfriend William Sargent on November 15, 2015; both active parishioners at the First Parish of Bolton. The cats she raised throughout her life had a special place in her heart. In the two and a half years since her diagnosis she lived her life to the fullest and with remarkable optimism that inspired her family, friends, and medical team. She was especially touched by the outpouring of love and support she received in the final months of her life.
Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her beloved husband, William Sargent of Bolton; her devoted parents Stephen and Joan Burns of Harvard; and her younger siblings Susan Burns of Worcester; Laura Burns Fritch of Cary, NC; and Stephen Burns, Jr. of Hopkinton. She will also be dearly remembered by many extended family members and friends. A period of visitation and fellowship will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10 until 11AM in Davis Hall at the First Parish of Bolton, 673 Main St., Bolton, with a Funeral Service to follow in the church at 11AM.
