Obituary for Alan Hayes

Alan  Hayes
Clinton-Alan D. Hayes, a long time Boylston resident, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Diane (Hanson) Hayes; and their two children; Michelle Hayes of Washington, D.C.; and Bryan Hayes of Boylston; his mother, Shirley (Smith) Hayes of Needham; brother Donald Hayes & wife Jody of Prescott, AZ; aunts and uncle Harold Hayes & Betty of KY; and Arlene Rose of Medford; numerous colleagues and many dear friends. Alan was pre-deceased by his father Richard L. Hayes.
Alan was born in Boston, raised in Needham and was a graduate of Needham High School, Class of 1971. He obtained his degree in Finance from Babson College and worked with Prime Computer and GCA before joining Raytheon, where he worked as a financial analyst for 30 years. Alan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, hiking, canoeing, and camping, and who successfully summited all New England 4,000 foot peaks. He held memberships with the Audobon Society and the AMC. He was also a rock music-enthusiast and drummer and an active member of the Tahanto Parent Music Organization. Alan loved flying and had achieved his pilot license with instrument rating. He was a talented mechanic who could fix anything and enjoyed working on cars. He was an active member of Trinity Church in Bolton. Alan most cherished time spent in the company of his family and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Trinity Church, 14 Wattaquadock Road, Bolton, with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. Calling hours will be held from 5 until 7PM on Friday, April 21, 2017 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Alan D.
