Obituary for Evangelina Agustin
Clinton-Evangelina Pineda Agustin, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, April 7, 2017 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Jonathan Agustin Ruiz; their children and spouses, Vilma Cordon & Rudy; Oswaldo Agustin & Dorcas; Rony Agustin; and Edna Palafox & Cutberto; all of Clinton; 6 grandchildren, Monica Cordon, Rony Agustin, Edna Peralta, Jennifer Cordon, Sandra Montenegro, and Eva Recinos; 5 great-grandchildren, Ayden Cordon, Adriel Agustin, Gabriel Montenegro, Antonio Peralta, and Andres Recinos; daughter-in-law Sodeida Agustin; numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her siblings, Alfredo, Juan, Miguel, and Soledad.
Evangelina was born in Zacapa, Guatemala to the late Jose Elias Pineda and Dominga Sagastume Reyes. She dedicated herself to raising her family as a full-time homemaker and immigrated to the United States, settling in Clinton in 1988. A woman of great faith, she was a devout Christian and member of Ministerio Evangelico Rios de Agua Viva in Waltham. Evangelina enjoyed playing Bingo, shopping yard sales and traveling with family and friends. She will be forever remembered as the matriarch of her family and dearly missed by all who loved her. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with burial to follow in Reservoir Pines Cemetery.
